Greetings from the MDA.

We have just celebrated 50 years of nationhood, as expected it was a festival of colour and lights, with pomp and paegentry. We are a proud. Lot.

MDA was registered in 13th February 1952, due the hardwork of our members we are celebrating our 65th AGM next year. We have come a long way. We managed to host the FDI once and the APDC Conference thrice. We are always proud of the quality of speakers we have for our conference.

Having said this we look forward with vigour to serve the profession platform in the best way possible. Recently I had a few calls from concerned members regarding a letter. After discussing the issue I am weary of some dentists, who would stoop so low as to write unwanted letters for circulation. MDA is an honorable organization with very high standards. We thrive to raech for the moon and even if we fail we will be among the stars. That's the stuff we are made off.

We must be proud individuals, who with the help of god have been given the privilege of tertiary education with a title Dr. It's high time we stand up to this title and start behaving like professionals. As far as the MOH is concerned, we are the eyes and ears for the profession, we are continuously working together to bring this profession to a higher platform. We don't need narrow minded, inward, thinking individulas to derail us from our objectives. Members should disregard these selfish individuals once and for all, make sure they do not serve this esteemed organization at any level.

We have had overwhelming response on the membership dues. To date just in 3 months we have managed to collect RM 71,360.95. From next year we will issue membership cards. A big thank you to all of you.

The past 50 years has brought us to be what we are but it should not an excuse to avoid doing the necessary to move ahead.
